The bedroom is complete!  The month-long project meant lots of caulking, sanding, spackeling,  painting...you get the idea.  We're really happy with how the paint color turned out.  I wasn't sure about the ceiling fan at first, but it's growing on me now that everything is back in the room.  It's nice to have the extra light.  The floors look great, but I was fully expecting them to after seeing the office.  Many thanks to my dad who helped us install it.  It all came together nicely and it looks like a totally different room.  We say it's the best room in the house, but we say that about every room after we finish.  I guess we're just getting better at it!  Still have some finishing touches - need to put some carpet in the closets, paint around the new light switch, get new curtains, paint the heater cover white (which we'll do in the spring when it can be done outside) and hang some pictures.  I know I'll be spending more time in there - it's not just a bedroom, it's now also my "retreat"!

Tom took up the ugly purple carpet today and discovered newspaper stuck to the floor.  Check out some of these old ads.  I searched and searched for a date - finally found one: April 14, 1973!  Groovy!

Well, here it is so far.  Almost done painting the woodwork.  Got some bad news today...since Sherwin Williams took over MAB Paints, they just switched to all Sherwin Williams products.  What does this mean?  If we ever have a large area to touch up, we basically have to repaint the entire room since they can't mix our color anymore.  Oh well, I'll enjoy the color while I can!

Remember what it looked like - dingy and bland.  Who can forget the purple carpet?!  We're making great progress on our bedroom and when you see it again, it won't look like the same room!
